Annabelle Crusan, DVM, MS is a Veterinary Medical Officer at the Office of Device Evaluation (ODE), Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) at FDA. She reviews proposed and completed animal studies for evaluation of cardiovascular and orthopedic devices. She serves as liaison for ISO 10993 Part 2 (Animal Welfare Requirements), Part 6 (Local Implantation) and Part 11 (Systemic Toxicity), and, member of the FDA Animal Welfare Subcommittee. She is involved in revising the guidance document for GLP non-clinical safety studies for medical devices. Prior to joining FDA, she co-authored peer-reviewed articles on in vivo and in vitro models, and, murine renal dopaminergic system. Dr. Crusan earned her DVM with honors, has MS in Veterinary Clinical Sciences, , and, has completed a three-year residency in Laboratory Animal Medicine.
