Joe Whittemore is a Sr. Manager, Enterprise Records & Information Management at Pfizer. In his current role, he manages the archival of inactive, electronic content across the enterprise. He has over 27 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Throughout his career he has worked in a variety of Audit/IT roles (including IT Auditor and Systems Analyst) and in pre-clinical science roles (including Toxicology technician, Clinical Pathology technician, and Study Toxicologist). He has extensive experience in computerized system development, validation, compliance, auditing, records management, and project management. This combination of experience has fueled his interest and ability to blend knowledge of the technical requirements of GxP activities with the appropriate practices and FDA expectations for automated systems supporting those activities.
Joe is a member of the Society of Quality Assurance and is Chair of the Computer Validation & IT Compliance (CVIC) Specialty Section. He was a contributing author on the Red Apple II book – Computerized Systems Used in Nonclinical Safety Assessment. He has a Masters in Computer Information Systems and a BS in Health Sciences.
